Wake Up Sleepy Driver with the Sleep Buster

Developed by Juki from Japan, the so-called "Sleep Buster" is a device that can be used to wake up sleepy driver. All that needs to be done is to mount this particular device onto a car seat and it will detect when the driver feels sleepy. This is possible thanks to the sensor built into the Sleep Buster that can
identify the signals sent by the aorta and by the heart.

In order to accomplish what it's made for, there's the Human Tachometer software. This software functions to visualize, on a controller, how the driver is feeling at a given time. Users of this device can also check how drowsy or fatigue they've become and how far their concentration has gone distracted.

The Sleep Buster has been programmed to analyze how the driver's feeling every 18 seconds. Then, within approximately 10 minutes before the driver actually gets sleepy, the device will warn him/her. This will allow the driver to take necessary precautions such as pulling off the car and taking a rest for a while before moving on to their destination.

It is said that Juki will start offering the Sleep Buster for $2,000 in Japan in February 2012. What customers will get are the sheet, the power module and also the controller. There's no official announcement yet as whether the device will also be sold in other countries or not. However, Juki can be found in the United States as well. So, that may as well be a clue. :)
