8 Ferraris Crash One Another at Same Time, Same Place?

Japan has been well known for tuner cars, but this time it seems that the country will be more popular for its potentially most expensive car crash ever to happen in history.

It is out of the question that most of the Japanese, either men or women, are huge automotive enthusiasts. This expensive accident that took place on a highway in the Yamaguchi prefecture on Sunday, 10:15 a.m. local time, may prove that even more. A total of 14 cars -- most of which are supercars or, at least, luxury cars -- were caught crashing into one another just recently.

Involved in the crash were a Lamborghini Diablo, a Nissan GT-R Skyline, a Mercedes-Benz CL600 and 2 other Mercedes-Benz models, Ferrari F355, Ferrari F360, Ferrari F430, Ferrari F512 and a Toyota Prius, which may seem a little out of place in this case.

According to witnesses around the area at the time of the accident, they heard a tremendous noise right before the accident began to take place. One of the witnesses, 36-year-old male driver from Kanzaki in the Saga prefecture of Japan, who happened to be driving on the other lane of the road when the accident happened, confirmed this.

Those involved in the accident include a woman in addition to 10 men and they have all been brought to the nearest hospital due to some bruising and other insignificant injuries.

Current investigation suggests that the driver who caused the accident were actually trying to overtake another driver. Unfortunately, since the road was wet at the time, the driver lost control of his Ferrari and hence hit the central barrier where it all began. Then, more oncoming drivers couldn't manage to stop their cars in time and so they hit the cars that already crashed before them. This happened again and again, causing a chain reaction that went as far as several hundred yards.

Due to this horrible accident, it won't really be too surprising after all for a damage bill worth several million pounds to come to repair the damage. Well, that's far more expensive than a Ferrari F355, which is worth several hundred thousand pounds at the maximum. However, that's the price to pay indeed. Yet, it's not yet decided who will have to pay that sum of money as further investigation is being carried out to find out the actual cause of the most horrifying car crash ever in history. The authority was also forced to block access to the highway for as long as 6 hours due to the incident.
Unfortunately for the drivers, all their supercars are now just very expensive but useless scrap metal. For the drivers, there seems to be no more showing up in style with their then-supercar metals.
