Kia Introduces the Latest Rio and Its Tiger Nose

The All New Rio, the new 5-door hatchback from Kia

As Featured On EzineArticlesOn Wednesday, October 26, 2011, PT Kia Mobil Indonesia (KMI) via its Marketing Communication Manager, Ridjal Mulyadi, finally released the latest version of Kia Rio featuring a tiger nose
design on the front grille of the model.

The launch of this latest Rio is as promised by Ridjal on a statement he made last Friday, October 21, 2011. When confirmed at the time, Ridjal also revealed that Kia is actually planning to launch the sedan version in addition to the already launched hatchback version.

For the customers in Indonesia, the presence of the All New Rio should be a real refreshment considering that the South Korean car manufacturer has never before offered such a design as that of the 4th generation Rio. Formerly, prior to using the name Rio for the model, Kia used to use Pride instead.

Glancing at the front part of the car, especially the grille, customers may well be quite impressed by the tiger nose grille design and the headlights that blend perfectly to the grille. Now, if you think about it again, the older versions of Rio or the Pride might seem rather feminine. However, this is not the case with this latest version of Rio. Kia has managed to design its latest 5-door hatchback in such a way that it gives out a masculine instead of the feminine impression.

Meanwhile, glancing at the rear exterior of the car, customers in Indonesia may well be reminded of the SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) from Kia that has also been launched quite recently, the All New Sportage. Both the All New Rio and the All New Sportage come featuring an integrated bumper design.

Under the hood, Kia has powered its latest generation Rio with a 1,396cc CVVT (Continuous Variable Valve Transmission) DOHC (Dual Over Head Controller) engine. With these latest technologies, this compact car can offer a maximum power of 107 PS at the engine revolution of 6,300 rpm. In addition to that, it can offer a torque of 13.8 kg/m, too, when the engine reaches 4,200 rpm. Keeping in mind that this car is actually a hatchback, the engine performance is considerably fantastic.

For those interested in purchasing this All New Kia Rio, they'll have 2 variants to choose from. The first variant is the 6-speed manual transmission and the other is the 5-speed automatic transmission. Also, there are 7 color choices to choose from, which are bright silver, black, wendy brown, fresh beige, solid white, graphite grey and signal red.

Kia offers quite a convenient interior with its latest All New Rio
For the Indonesian automotive market, this latest version of Kia Rio is offered with the price tag of Rp. 159.9 million (OTR) for the manual transmission version and Rp. 173.9 million (OTR) for the automatic transmission version.
